We built the software I wished I had.
I started a buy-here-pay-here dealership when I was 18. It didn't take long to realize something:
Collecting payments wasn't one part of the business—it was the business.
I spent my days chasing people down, taking payments over the phone, and asking customers to come into the dealership during business hours just to pay a bill. Shockingly, making people drive to the dealership just to hand us money wasn't very popular.
So I built a simple way for customers to pay from their phone, whenever they wanted.
That became Carpay.
Today, Carpay has processed more than $1 billion in BHPH payments. That's obviously cool. But if you ask me what I'm actually proud of, it's that we've built software dealers genuinely like using. We still sweat the details because we know what it's like to sit on the other side of the desk.
We're still a BHPH company at heart. We know the business, we care about the details, and we love building products we're proud to put our name on.
