December on a Buy Here Pay Here lot runs on its own clock. Customers are stretching one paycheck across gifts, travel, and a family dinner they somehow ended up hosting. Somebody in the office has PTO on the calendar, and the lot is keeping holiday hours. The payments are still due on the same dates they were in October.
Where December payments slip
A payment that depends on the customer remembering it, calling in during business hours, and catching someone at the desk has a lot of ways to slip, and December finds all of them.
Carpay takes most of those steps out. Customers get a reminder text and can reply PAY to charge the card they have on file, or pay in the Carpay app, online, or through the 24/7 phone line at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve if that’s when it comes to mind. The payments come in without anyone on your team taking them one call at a time, and you can see where the whole book stands.
Carpay makes sure a forgotten due date or the lot’s hours aren’t the reason a payment gets missed.

How the exchange works
Three steps
- Sign up. Complete your dealership’s Carpay agreement by December 18, 2026.
- Get live. Setup takes about a week. Our onboarding team migrates your loan book and connects your dealer management system. Onboarding needs to be complete by January 31, 2027.
- Pick your gift. Once you’re live, choose from our holiday gift selection and we’ll send it your way.

None of that stops being useful on December 26.
The case for not waiting until January
December is a pretty good stress test for a collections process. If yours works best when everybody’s in the office and the phones are staffed, the holidays will show you where you have gaps. You don’t have to fix it all before Christmas, but it’s a great time to get started.
